Creating an opportunity

An opportunity can be created from:
- the CRM module > Pipeline;
- the Sales module > Opportunities.
| 1 | From the search screen of the Opportunities menu, click on + New on the right of the screen. |

| Prospect / Customer |
Specify the customer or prospect of the opportunity. The help list is displayed after typing at least 3 characters. The list displays the customers and prospects of the company. Click on Note Blocking rules can be defined from the customer record sheet in order to restrict creating and modifying objects on this customer. For more information, refer to Setting up blocking rules. |

| Customer site |
Specify the customer's or prospect's site. The help list is displayed after typing at least 3 characters. It displays active customers or prospects sites. Active customers and prospects sites are available from the Desktop Application > People > Customers/Prospects. Click on |

| Main contact |
Fill in the first letters of the contact associated with the opportunity. The drop-down list is displayed automatically with the relevant contacts. Select the relevant contact from the drop-down list. A user with the 160402 TOOLS CONTACTS NEW DMF can directly create a contact from this field. To create a new contact, specify the last name then first name and click on Reference For more information about creating a main contact, refer to Creating a main contact. |

| Code | Specify a code for the opportunity. | |||||||||
| Call name |
Specify a call name for the opportunity. This name identifies the opportunity and can be used for research. |

| Amount | Fill in the amount associated with the opportunity. This amount is an estimate that can be detailed throughout the opportunity's life. | |||||||||
| Currency and Rate |
Select from the drop-down list the currency applied to the opportunity. By default, the selected currency is the company currency. The Rate field is automatically specified with conversion rate of the selected currency and cannot be modified. |

| No. Days | Fill in the number of days associated with the opportunity. This number is an estimate that can be detailed throughout the opportunity's life. | |||||||||
| Expected signature date | Fill in the estimated closing date. | |||||||||
| Sales manager |
Fill in the first letters of the employee in charge of the opportunity. The help list is displayed automatically with the relevant employees. Select the desired employee from the help list. By default, the employee creating the opportunity is already filled in. |

| Tags |
Specify the first letter of the tag you are looking for to open the list of relevant tags, then click on the tag to add it to the opportunity. This list only displays tags of the Opportunity type. You can add as many tags as necessary. Tip Press F2 to open the list of all the tags available for opportunities. A user with the 091202 ADMINISTRATOR TAGS NEW DMF can directly create a tag from this field. To create a new tag right away:

To modify a tag, click on this tag from an opportunity record sheet or from the creation form, modify the desired fields then click on Save. |

| Description | Specify a description to give more details about the opportunity. | |||||||||
| Pipeline |
Select the pipeline to which attach the opportunity from the drop-down list. The pipelines available are one set up on the ***** company and the other companies. |

| Stage |
If a default stage is set up in the pipeline setup on which you are creating the opportunity, the field will be pre-filled with this stage. If no stage is specified, the opportunity will be created in the first pipeline stage. When the user has the 191421 WEB PORTAL OPPORTUNITIES MODIFY DEFAULT STAGE FOR CREATION DMF, they can chose in which stage the opportunity is created. |

| Origin type | Select the origin type from the drop-down list. If an origin type is checked by default in the sales opportunities origin type setup (Desktop Application > Tools > Setup > General setup > Sales > Type of sales opportunity source) then it will be the one specified by default. | |||||||||
| Source | Specify the origin of the opportunity. |
| 4 | Specify the custom data of the My quick accesses section. |
By default, no custom data is visible in the My quick accesses section. To add custom data to the section:
- Click on

On the left, the list contains data available to be added in quick access. On the right, the list contains data added in quick access. - Drag and drop a data from one list to the other to add it in quick access or remove it from quick access. To add or remove all data at once, click on the

icon.
- Click on Apply.

The opportunity is created. The screen displays the opportunity record sheet > Header view.
