060198 PROJECTS PROJECTS DUPLICATE MULTIPLE PROJECTS |
Duplicating year-based projects allows you to duplicate one or more year-based projects for the next year.
Prerequisites:
- The batch duplication of projects must be set up (see Multiple duplication).
- The projects must be associated with the same year (see Linking a project to a year).
- The Do not duplicate box must be unchecked on projects (see Creating a project).

From Management > Projects, open a project record sheet and:
- Go to Edit > Duplicate project associated with year.
- Or go to
from the action bar > Duplicate project associated with year.
The Batch project duplication screen opens with the relevant project only.

1 | From Management > Projects, start a search for projects. |
2 | In the search results, select the lines of the projets to be duplicated. |
3 | Right-click on your selection and click on Batch duplication of selected projects, or click on |
The Batch project duplication screen opens.

1 | Enter the information in the Common criteria section: |
Column | Description |
---|---|
Status code | Enter the status code that will be applied to the duplicated projects. |
Next year | Enter the year that will be applied to the duplicated projects. |
Copy the project structure | Check this box if you want to keep the structure (phase, sub-phase and task) from the original projects in the new projects. |
2 | In the Projects to duplicate section, check and modify the information if needed: |
- The Project excluded, Project to change and To process boxes allow you to filter the projects in the table.
- The excluded projects are projects that cannot be duplicated. The reason is indicated in the Information column in the table.
- The projects to change are projects that need to be modified in order to be duplicated. Apply the necessary modifications if you want to duplicate these projects.
- The projects to process are projects that can be duplicated as is.
- You can click on a project line to display in the lower part the information that will be applied to the duplicated project. If needed, modify this information.
- The projects that you want to duplicate must be checked. You can select multiple projects and right-click on your selection then click on Check the selected projects or Uncheck the selected projects.
- By default, the columns under Duplication parameter show the setup of batch duplication for projects. You can select multiple project lines and right-click on the selection to enable or disable each duplication option.
Note
When the Duplication of management objects column is enabled for some projects, the Multiple duplication checkbox on the headers and the lines of the objects associated with the projects is used to define the lines that will be duplicated:
- If the Multiple duplication box is checked in the header of the object, the lines where the Multiple duplication box is also checked are duplicated when duplicating year-based projects.
- If the Multiple duplication box is unchecked in the header of the object, the object is not duplicated when duplicating year-based projects, even if the Multiple duplication box is checked on some of the lines.
3 | On the top right, click on Start duplication. |
The project duplication is started.
The projects that were duplicated are displayed in green. The codes of the new projects are in the Project code column under Target project. You can click on a code to open the project.
The projects that failed to be duplicated are displayed in red. The reason of the failure is given in the Information column under Target project.
If timesheets, scheduled items or management objects were duplicated too, the dates entered on the new items will be replaced by the same dates of the next year (even if they fall on weekends or holidays).
The Start and End dates of phases, sub-phases and tasks contained in the duplicated projects are also replaced by the same dates of the next year (even if they fall on weekends or holidays).
